The Monitor 16" Turbine Pitless Unit, for line shaft turbine pumps, forms a watertight extension of the water well casing. While the upper casing extension is 12 inches or more above grade, the Turbine Pitless Unit discharge is buried below grade for a sanitary transfer of water to a water tower or water treatment plant. The Turbine Pitless Unit upper casing is flanged to receive a motor. Once the motor assembly is made to the Turbine Pitless Unit, a complete assembly is formed and a watertight seal is formed.
 
Options for turbine pitless units include: epoxy coating, flanged upper casing, and water sampler.
 
The Monitor Turbine Pitless Unit bearings are water lubricated.

CORROSION PROTECTION — All water passages are either hot-dipped lead free galvanized or constructed of corrosion resistant material.

EASY TO SERVICE — The inner parts of the pitless unit and the column pipe may be removed without digging up the discharge pipe. The Pitless unit and the pump or well may then be serviced. This easy removal, by lifting, is made possible due to the o-ring seals in the spool. Replacement is equally simple.

RELIABLE SEALS — Neoprene O-rings between accurately machined hot-dipped lead free galvanized surfaces on the spool and and within the unit provide positive seals.

O-RING SEAL PROTECTION — Monitor seal protection prevents seal damage during installation and service.

FROST PROOF — No heating is required. All water passages are below the frost line.

QUICK TO INSTALL — A quality pump installation can be made easily and economically without delay for masonry or building construction.

PROTECTED SCREEN VENT — standard on all units.

SUPPORT RINGS — Prevent distortion of the discharge body due to vertical movement of discharge pipe.

ACCURATE ALIGNMENT — Precision machining assures accurate alignment.

 

OPTIONS:

EPOXY PAINTING — can be done, if required, for extra protection in certain soil types.

ADDITIONAL TAPPING IN SPOOL — is available upon request.

TRANSITION SLEEVE FOR MECHANICAL JOINT — is available upon request.

 

Units can be supplied with a discharge designed for threaded, welded, flanged or mechanical joint with transition sleeve connection. Column pipe connection is male iron pipe thread.

NOTE: Provision for prelubrication not available.
NOTE: Units are designed for motors having an RPM of 1800 or less and a 18-5/8” base diameter having a 14-3/4 ” bolt circle. Maximum bury depth will be 9 feet. For units requiring exceptions to these conditions of design, special specifications must be used.
NOTE: Any combination between Column Pipe and Discharge Outlet size is possible, if required.
